What if I don't know what I really want?

You may begin with a clear vision, or no idea where to start. Both are entirely normal.

As every project evolves, priorities shift, assumptions are challenged and better possibilities emerge. What first appears to be the right solution often gives way to something altogether better.

Our role isn't simply to respond to a brief. It's to understand how you live, uncover what truly matters and define the brief with greater clarity than was possible at the outset. Only then does every subsequent decision become inevitable rather than a struggle.

How do we avoid expensive mistakes?

By resisting rushed decisions. A compromise accepted today can become tomorrow's daily frustration.

What does having us on the project change?

What if our property is overseas?

Many of the homes we design are located abroad. Distance should not compromise oversight, nor should it require reliance on unfamiliar local design teams with whom you have little or no existing relationship.

We have invested in the infrastructure needed to oversee projects internationally, including operating directly across European jurisdictions — simplifying procurement, administration and delivery in a way few British practices are able to offer.

James leads every project personally. His background in engineering and design allows technical rigour and aesthetic sensitivity to inform one another rather than compete.

Our practice is deliberately small. You will find the same person at the end of the project that you found at the beginning, with no dilution along the way.
